Review & Description

Ski Beatz, Record Producer, Musician and MC originally from North Carolina, was discovered in NYC by DJ Clark Kent. SKI was originally known as "MC Will-SKI" and in the 1980's, he was a member of original flavor, the first group managed by future recording industry executive, Damon Dash. In the Mid-90's, SKI produced four tracks on Jay-Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996), including the singles, "Dead Presidents" and "Feelin' It" marking SKI's first major production placement. After the critical success of Reasonable Doubt, SKI went on to produce Camp Lo's 1997 debut, Uptown Saturday Night. Worked with Jay-Z again on his sophomore album, "In My Lifetime, Vol 1" (1997), and did most of the production on Camplo's second and third albums.

In 2009, SKI linked back up with Damon Dash, Joining the entrepreneur's DD172 Media Collective, Subsequently nicknamed the 24 Hour Karate School. Since the Foundation of the Studio Enclave, SKI has worked with a number of artist including Currensy, Jim Jones, Smokedza, Camplo, Wizkhalifa and Stalley. In 2010, He produced Curren$y's pilot Talk and I And II and put out 24 Hour Karate School Part I. Joining forces with the young hip hop MC's of Japan to create their own version of 24 Hour Karate School. 24 Hour Karate School Japan (2011) features over 15 famous Japanese MC's including Union Rhyme, Seeda, Prajna, Anarchy, Rinolatina II, Tetrad, The Gang of 4, Ryuzo and more.
